Document Management

Document Management programs come in a wide variety of options.  Simple document manage is just good practice: create a folder for each client, a subfolder for each matter, and then topical folders.  Be sure to name your files with a draft date, a type description, and a version.  Where document management systems (or “DMS”) come in is these programs force you to properly profile your documents, enforce version control and logging, and give you powerful search engines.
