Installation of the Feature Package
Please read the following before you begin the installation of Basha Systems Litigation Files
Management System feature package for Time Matters 5.0. No password is required to install the LFMS
feature package. However, you must secure an individually generated activation code within 30 days
of purchase. To obtain the code, please send your request via email to rose@bashasys.com.
A consultant will call you and take you through the activation process.
Before You Install
Before you begin the installation, please be sure to
do the following:
- Check that you are using Time Matters - Version 5.0 - either Professional, Enterprise or World. This feature package will NOT work with Time Matters 4.0 or earlier.
- Be sure you have the most recent service release from Time Matters. The most recent release can be downloaded from www.timematters.com. Time Matters will request your Serial Number.
- Make sure all users are out of Time Matters. To check user login status, click on FILE -> UTILITIES -> USER LOGIN STATUS. Contact the active users. Then tag each active user and click on CLEAR button.
- Close all Time Matters windows. Use the menu: WINDOW -> CLOSE ALL WINDOWS.
- BACKUP your DATABASE. Before you make major changes in the database, you must do a Backup of the database. Click on FILE -> BACKUP TIME MATTERS DATA. Change the DESTINATION (BACKUP FILE) to "PreLFMS Backup.zip".
- Click OK.
Importing the Feature Package
The Basha Systems Litigation Files Management System
feature package must be imported into your Time Matters database. The
package is contained in a file known as a "Delivery File" which has the
extension "*.tfx".
- Insert the LFMS for Time Matters 2004 disk into your CD or DVD drive.
- In Time Matters, click on FILE -> UTILITIES -> PACKAGE FEATURES. This will bring up a LIST OF PACKAGES.
- Click on IMPORT. This will bring up the IMPORT FEATURE PACKAGES wizard.
- Click on the lookup arrow next to DELIVERY FILE. Find the file "FLIP for Time Matters 2004.tfx". It will be in "C:/Program Files/Basha Systems/LFMS for Time Matters".
- Click on SAVE. This will bring up Package information about the Author, Company, Contact and Copyright.
- Click on NEXT. This will bring up FEATURE PACKAGE INSTRUCTIONS. Review the instructions.
- Click on NEXT. These instructions may be printed by clicking on PRINT.
- You now have the choice of importing all packages in the Delivery File or selected packages.
- Select IMPORT ALL PACKAGES and click on NEXT.
- At the next screen, if you have already backed up your Time Matters database, uncheck the box BACKUP DATABASE. If you have NOT previously backed up your database, leave the box BACKUP DATABASE checked.
- Click NEXT. On the next screen, Validating Packages, wait while
Time Matters validates the feature package against your existing database.
Time Matters checks if codes and form styles used in the feature package
conflict with settings in your current database. If so, there is a
VALIDATION WARNINGS screen. On a first time install, there should
be no conflicts. On an update, there will be conflicts with the previous
install.
- Click on NEXT. On an Update install, you may receive an OVERWRITE WARNING.
- Click YES and then DELETE WARNING. Click YES. Wait for the progress bar on the IMPORTING PACKAGES screen to fill. It may take a few minutes.
- At the IMPORT COMPLETE, Click FINISH.
Activating the Feature Package
The feature package requires activation. You have 30
days after installation to obtain an activation code. After 30 days, the
feature package will cease to work until you obtain the code. To obtain
the activation code, please send an email with your contact information
to rose@bashasys.com or call Basha
Systems at (800) 725-0326 or (914) 827-9173. A consultant will take you through the process
of obtaining a Key Code and then give you an activation code.
- Click on FILE -> UTILITIES -> PACKAGE FEATURES. This will pull up the List of Packages window.
- Check the box next to LFMS FOR TIME MATTERS 2004 (IMPORTED).
- Click on CHANGE RECORD.
- Click on the UNLOCK button.
- Read the SERIAL NUMBER to the consultant.
- Read the KEY CODE to the consultant.
- Choose TERM as the UNLOCK TYPE and then enter the date given by consultant.
- Enter the UNLOCK CODE provided by the consultant.
- Click on the VALIDATE button. If you have the right code, a message will say "The Unlock Code Matches".
- Click OK and then OK again.
